Holy Redeemer School begins it’s 88th Year! Excellence in Education with the Power of Faith
Welcome Back, Students, Parents, & Faculty! -Fr. Mark
AND Welcome to our New Principal, Mrs. Katrina Fernandez!
Dear Holy Redeemer Parish and School family-
I am happy to announce Mrs. Katrina Fernandez as the new principal of Holy Redeemer School. We warmly welcome her as she officially began on July 1, 2019.
Mrs. Katrina Fernandez comes to us with a strong background of excellence in education. She received her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from University of Miami and her Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton. She has been a teacher, a Director of Admissions, a Vice Principal, and is currently serving as a Principal of another Archdiocese of Washington school. Mrs. Fernandez resides locally with her family.
Mrs. Fernandez has a zeal for Catholic education and a love for students. Her leadership at her previous school was impactful in the areas of improved test scores and increased enrollment. She is excited to begin her tenure at Holy Redeemer and to use her background and knowledge to help advance our Latino initiatives and our special education program, as well as our marketing and development campaign. Mrs. Fernandez has demonstrated qualities that we believe will be best for our students and families moving forward, and that will continue to unite the school and parish in a faith-filled way.
We are all grateful for Maria Bovich and her 11 years of dedicated service to the children of this school and their families. She enters retirement with the love and respect of this parish community. I am also personally grateful for our Search Committee and our Catholic School’s Office who worked so well together with me to select our next principal. Katrina is fortunate to step into such a wonderful school community and carry on the tradition of “Excellence in Education with the Power of Faith.”
