On Sunday, November 4th, at 4:00 p.m., Chantry will present a "Music for All Souls" concert at Holy Redeemer. Chantry is a professional early music choir, singing the masterpieces of Renaissance and Baroque music. They have been praised for their presentations of exceptionally interesting and moving music, named as "one of the musical glories of Washington" (All-Arts Review). They will present the Victoria "Requiem", Purcell's "Funeral Music", and settings by Lassus and Byrd of "The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God" and Schutz's "Blessed are the dead" in German.

This concert is FREE and is an incredible opportunity for our parish families, school families, and surrounding community to experience this beautiful sacred music in our home parish. You don't want to miss this concert!!

A note from our Music Director

It is such an honor for us here at Holy Redeemer to be hosting Chantry in concert this Sunday.  I encourage all of our parishioners and school families- whether musically-inclined or not!- to attend this "Music for All Souls" concert at 4pm on Sunday in the church.  It is a very unique opportunity to attend a concert by professional musicians, specially trained to sing early music of our Church.  Having attended a rehearsal downtown last week in preparation for this concert- as I am fortunate enough to be playing organ with them on one of the pieces- I promise that you will not only enjoy, but truly be moved, by this stunningly beautiful music.  Holy Redeemer is offering this concert with NO admission fees, because of our belief of the importance of this music to you.  Consider making it a special afternoon- come to the hour-long concert at 4pm with friends and family, and head out for a Sunday evening dinner after.  This is truly heavenly music for all souls- for our souls!  -Maria Balducci
