Due to the ongoing restrictions placed on public gatherings, the celebration of First Communion originally scheduled for this Saturday May 2nd, and our celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation with our eighth-graders scheduled for Wednesday May 13th, have both been postponed. Likewise, since the Easter Vigil this year was unable to be celebrated publicly, our catechumen Vaibhav Gupta and candidate Brooke Bell still await full reception into the communion of the Church.
We know that this news will be disappointing to you, a disappointment we share. We want to assure you that as soon as it is possible, we will make alternate arrangements so that these sacraments can be celebrated. Additionally, we ask that you continue to keep in your prayers all those preparing for these sacraments, as well as their friends and family who make this journey with them.
It is our prayer that in this time when access to the sacraments has been diminished, together we might grow in a greater desire for them, and be filled with thanksgiving for the gift of these visible means of God’s life given to us, and that by so growing we might become more effective witnesses to others, especially those preparing to receive them for the first time.
Please know that as soon as alternate arrangements have been made for the celebration of these sacraments, we will communicate that information to you.
