On Saturday, November 3rd, and Saturday, November 9th, nine members of the Holy Redeemer Cub Scout Pack and Scouts BSA Troop 740 participated in "Scouting for Food" an annual service project of the Boy Scouts of America.
During the first weekend, the scouts and family members distributed door tags around the Holy Redeemer neighborhood asking for food donations. The following weekend the group returned to collect the more than 320 lbs (over 80 bags) of food donations. The donations were given to the St. Joseph's Food Pantry. "This is a favorite service project of our scouts," says Cubmaster and parishioner Danielle Ballantine. "Even the youngest scout understands what it means to help feed people who are hungry."
