This past Sunday, November 4, at 4pm, Holy Redeemer hosted Chantry, a professional early music chamber choir based in Washington, DC. In their program titled
"Music for All Souls", Chantry presented the beautiful Requiem of Victoria, as well as music by Purcell, Byrd, Lassus, and Schutz. The crowd who gathered for the concert was very appreciative and moved by the beautiful music: as one said, "a little bit of heaven here in our Catholic Church". Thank you to Dr. David Taylor and Chantry for sharing this music; thank you to our Director of Music, Maria Balducci, for organizing this concert; and thank you to the Archdiocese of Washington, for supporting this concert financially through a Parish Evangelization Grant. Beautiful sacred music in our church truly can draw people in to the life of faith!
