When my husband and I first came to Holy Redeemer over seven years ago, we were instantly drawn to the welcoming community and the beautiful faith we saw among so many of you. Newly married and fresh out of college, I desired to serve and work in the Church in some way -- little did I know what God had in store for me when I started working here as the Director of Religious Education in 2013. It has been an absolute joy for me to be able to pass along the faith to the children of our parish and school as they prepared for Sacraments, to accompany many adults becoming Catholic, and to spend Sunday mornings with children in our School of Religion program as they learned about our faith. Personally speaking, my own faith has grown immensely through working with so many of you and through the guidance of Fr. Mark, Fr. Andrew, and the other priests who have served at our parish.
After careful prayer and thought, I am leaving from my position as Director of Religious Education to stay at home and focus on my family. I will miss serving in this capacity, but my husband and I will remain active in our parish. I will still help to prepare children who are becoming Catholic, work with couples are learning Natural Family Planning, and help with other initiatives in our parish. I want to thank the families and parishioners who’ve allowed me to be a part of their faith journey over the past several years, the parish & school staff who have become dear friends of mine, and our priests who have supported & encouraged me in my position. You will all remain in my prayers and may God continue to bless our parish abundantly!
