Sacraments
Baptism — A preparation program is held for parents and godparents four times a year. The sacrament is administered normally during the Sunday Masses and occasionally on Sunday afternoon. Parents should contact the Parish Office (301-474-3920) for complete information.
Confirmation and Eucharist — A preparation program is held for parents and children during the year and is announced. The two sacraments are administered during the Easter season. For more information cntact the Director of Religious Education and Youth Ministry (301-474-4299).
Marriage — A preparation program for couples is held in the parish twice a year. Contact the Parish Office (301-474-3920) well in advance (at least six months) for registering to attend the preparation program, to schedule the date of the marriage liturgy and to discuss the marriage liturgy with the Director of Liturgy and Music (301-474-3921).
Reconciliation
• Saturdays: 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM or other times by appointment (Contact the Parish Office [301-474-3920]).
• Communal Celebrations are held during Advent and Lent and are announced in the bulletin.
Anointing of the Sick — Communal Celebrations are scheduled in the Fall and the Spring at one of the Saturday/Sunday Masses. Other times for individual anointing of the sick can be arranged by contacting the Parish Office (301-474-3920).
Also, as a ministry to the sick, a Communion Service is offered in the home or hospital by our Parish Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion as arranged. In addition, the parish prays for the sick members of our community in our weekend Masses. Please contact the Parish Office (301-474-3920) to arrange.
Funerals — The Parish Bereavement Ministry is available to assist and support grieving families in preparing for the various liturgical rites offered for the deceased member of the family and this Christian community. Contact the Parish Office (301-474-3920).

Administrative
Parish Offices. Regular office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM except when closed for holidays. A more complete list of the various offices, clergy and staff of the parish and the corresponding telephone numbers are listed in the Weekly Bulletin distributed at Masses on the weekend. Parish School. Consists of elementary grades (K-8) and a pre-school program. Regular office hours are 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM, except when closed for holidays. Registrations for school are generally held in February of each year; full details are usually announced in the Parish Bulletin. An after-care program is also offered for children attending the parish school. For complete information, contact the Parish School office (301-474-3993).
School of Religion. For children not attending the Holy Redeemer Parish School, a developmental program of instruction in the Catholic Christian faith is provided for children from three years old through high school. This program is conducted on Sunday morning during the regular school year. Registration is held in July. Opportunities to Serve at Holy Redeemer. There are many opportunities for volunteers to serve the Holy Redeemer community and its neighbors. Parish Pastoral Council. This advisory body is composed of clergy, religious and lay members of the Holy Redeemer community. Meetings are open to all parishioners. A copy of the constitution may be found on the parish web site: Parish Pastoral Council Constitution. Finance Council. This advisory body concerning parish finances usually meets monthly except when more frequent meetings are needed for budget planning. Information on parish finances is provided regularly in the weekend Parish Bulletin.   List of Finance Council Members.
Use of Parish Facilities. The parish has several halls and rooms available for use in holding group meetings and social activities. Because of the variety and number of activities in the parish, advance scheduling of these facilities is important. Depending on the event and the sponsor, a fee may be charged. Contact the Parish Office (301-474-3920) for information and scheduling.
Displaying or Distributing Literature on Parish Grounds. Principally reserved to parish-sponsored groups and activities. All such information and plans must be coordinated with the Parish Office (301-474-3920) at least two weeks in advance.
Selling Items on Parish Grounds. Principally reserved to parish-sponsored groups and activities. Any proposal to sell items must be coordinated with the Parish Office (301-474-3920) at least two weeks in advance.
